Mot nye höyder

Mot nye høyder handler om hver enkelt elevs utvikling i skoletiden, men også om det allmennmenneskelige ønsket om å kunne fly, fascinasjonen av å være vektløs som en fugl. A4-arket kan bli sett på som et symbol for læring og utvikling, et blankt ark, der skolens oppgave er å hjelpe hver elev til å finne sin unike egenart i løpet av skoletiden. Ved å oppmuntres til å være kreativ, bli kjent med og forstå de kreative prosessene, oppdager man nye ting og ser verden på en ny måte. I installasjonen blir arkene til individuelle former og farger som flyr ut i verden.
Man kan også se arkene og flyene fra et mer humoristisk ståsted; - å kaste et papirfly og se hvor langt det kan gå er en form for kreativt tøys og dagdrømmeri.
Material: bemalt aluminium og balsatre.
Verket består av 125 stykk aluminiumsplater med størrelse 25 x 35 cm x 0,3 cm, i tillegg til 125 stykk aluminiumstenger med diameter 3 mm og i varierende lengder. Arkene er malt i ca. 30 forskjellige fargenyanser.

The public art commission "Towards New Heights" is a celebration of the development of each individual student during their time in school, as well as the universal human desire to soar and be weightless like a bird. The A4 sheet, a symbol of learning and growth, represents a blank canvas on which the school aims to guide students toward discovering their distinctive identity. Students can uncover new perspectives and gain a fresh outlook on the world by promoting creativity and encouraging an understanding of the creative process. In the installation, the sheets take on individual shapes and colors that take flight, symbolizing the limitless potential of every student.
The installation can also be viewed lightheartedly, reminiscent of the joy and carefree spirit of throwing paper planes and seeing how far they can travel.
The artwork is constructed of painted aluminum and balsa wood, with 125 aluminum plates measuring 25 x 35 cm x 0.3 cm, and 125 aluminum rods of varying lengths with a diameter of 3mm. The sheets are painted in approximately 30 different color shades.
